A story from your conversation

The evening I finally said it out loud

I thought I needed a clean answer. What I needed was enough quiet to hear the part of me that had known for months.

Written from your transcript · Yours to revise

What is Ember?

Ember is a free, private AI listening space where you can say what’s on your mind by voice or text. Instead of handing you answers like a chatbot, it listens and turns what you shared into your own private story.

Not another chatbot. A place for your story.

Most AI tools race to give you answers. Ember does something quieter — and keeps it entirely yours.

It listens

It listens for what mattered — what the experience disrupted, the question that keeps returning — not just the facts.

From one conversation

No year of prompts. Talk once and read your finished story the same day — written from your transcript, in your words.

Private by design

Your story is a private page — never public, never tied to your name or voice. Edit or delete it anytime.

Human Notes

When someone has lived a similar question, Ember shares a short, de-identified note from them. When nothing fits, it stays empty.

Three steps. No script.

  1. 01

    You talk

Call or text Ember and tell it about something you’ve lived through. Speak or type — whatever feels easier.

  2. 02

    Ember writes it

It listens for what mattered and turns the conversation into a written story, from your transcript.

  3. 03

    It’s yours

Read it, revise it, keep it, or delete it. You decide what happens after reading.

It wasn’t matched because both stories involved a startup.

Ember looks beneath the event: what the experience disrupted, the question that keeps returning, and where you are with it now. When someone has lived a similar question, Ember can share a short, de-identified note from them. When nothing truly fits, it leaves the space empty.

What happened
Ten months into a first startup, the founder had spent the pre-seed faster than intended and still hadn’t found footing.
The question still alive
“Was I learning the hard way, or was I simply irresponsible?”
What he wanted from another story
A distinction, not operating advice.
A note from someone who lived a similar question
“After we closed, I audited every expense as if the person I had been should have possessed the information I only have now.”

This existed before his conversation. Matched to him, not written for him. Illustrative example — real notes arrive only inside Ember.

Your story stays yours.

Private by default.

Your finished story is a private page. Nothing you tell Ember is ever public.

Nothing leaves by assumption.

If one note could help one person, Ember asks you then. Your answer applies once.

Yours to change.

Edit or delete any story page whenever you choose.

Clear answers before you begin.

Ember is built for telling a story, not performing one. You do not need to prepare or know how it ends.

What is Ember?

Ember is a free, private space to say what's on your mind out loud. Instead of giving you answers like a chatbot, it listens — by voice or text — and turns what you shared into your own private story you can read, edit, keep, or delete. No app to download.

How does Ember work?

Three steps, no script. You talk — call or text Ember and say whatever's on your mind. Ember listens for what mattered and writes it into a story, from your transcript, in your words. Then it's yours to keep, revise, or delete.

How do I start?

The quickest way is Try Ember — a 20-minute conversation right in your browser, no account needed. To keep it as a private story, tap Join Ember and text +1 (408) 590-4216 with the short confirmation message we give you (it confirms you're 18+ and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy). Setup takes about a minute.

Does it cost anything?

No. Ember is in beta: calling, texting, and getting your finished story are all free.

How long does a conversation take?

Voice conversations have a 20-minute limit. Text has no time limit. You can pause or stop whenever you want.

Who is Ember for?

It's for adults (18+) who just need to get something off their chest and be heard — not to get advice. If you want answers or a chatbot, Ember isn't that. If you want somewhere private to say it out loud and keep it in your own words, it's for you.

What can I talk to Ember about?

Whatever's sitting with you — a hard decision, a turning point, something at work, a relationship, a question that keeps coming back. Ember works from what you actually say, so the story is grounded in your life, not a template.

Do I need to be a good writer?

No. You just talk; Ember does the writing. It's built for saying something out loud, not performing it — you don't need to prepare or know how it ends. You only need the first word.

Does Ember invent details?

No. Your story is written from your transcript, in your words — the substance comes from what you share, not from made-up facts. Ember shapes and phrases it, and anything you'd say differently is yours to revise.

Who can see my story?

Your story is a private page — never public, never tied to your name or voice. Sharing is per story and off by default. Only short, de-identified snippets are ever used, never your name or voice. You can edit or delete any story whenever you choose.

Am I talking to a person?

The interviewer is AI. Human Notes are different: they come from real people, and are offered only when someone has lived a similar question.

Is Ember therapy?

No. Ember is a story interviewer — a place to talk and be heard — not a therapist, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency service. It's for adults 18+. If you're in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Can I keep adding to my stories over time?

Yes. Each conversation becomes its own private story, and you can keep as many as you like in your account — so they build up over time, one experience at a time.

You do not need the right words.
You only need the first one.
