An AI you can text or call, any hour
3 a.m. and it's still going round your head. A marriage that has gone quiet. Someone who stopped replying. Sometimes the easiest place to say it is the phone already in your hand — as a text, or out loud.
Ember is an AI you can text or call from your phone, any hour. There's no app to learn and no password: joining is one text, and after that Ember is a contact on your phone like any other.

How texting Ember works
- Send one text. Tap Join Ember on ember.space and send the text it sets up for you. That's the whole sign-up — no password.
- Save the contact. Ember texts back from its number with a contact card. Save it, and Ember shows up by name instead of as a number.
- Text or call any time. From then on, text or call that number whenever something is on your mind. A long message, a few words, or a call — however it comes.
What it's like to talk to
Ember listens and tries to understand what you mean. It remembers what you said, so you don't start over each time. It knows how things went for real people who stood where you're standing — what they tried, and what happened after. It won't tell you what to do.
Calling Ember
Some things are easier to say out loud than to type. Call Ember's number and talk. A call and your texts are one conversation, so you can pick up either way.
Texts from Ember
Ember may text you first now and then — after something you told it, or when it has a letter for you. You can turn that off in Settings, and you can reply STOP to stop texts. You can also ask Ember to text you a reminder at a time you choose, within the next two weeks.
Not on your phone right now?
You can talk to Ember on the web at ember.space, by voice or text, without an account — or in the Ember: Talk It Out app for iOS and Android.
Is it private?
Nothing you tell becomes a public post. No one can read your Ember unless you separately say yes. Ember's texts arrive like any other message, so anyone who can see the messages on your phone can see them too. Read exactly how privacy works on Ember.
What Ember is not
Ember is an AI, and it says so. It isn't a person, therapy, or an emergency service. If you're thinking about harming yourself, you can call or text 988 any time to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. If you're in immediate danger, call 911.

Yes. Ember is an AI you can text from your phone, any hour. Joining is one text, with no password, and after that you text Ember's number like any contact.
Can I call an AI to talk about my problems?
Yes. Once you've joined, you can call Ember's number and talk out loud. Calls and texts are one conversation, so Ember remembers what you said either way.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Texting and calling work from your phone's own messages and phone apps. There's also an Ember: Talk It Out app for iOS and Android, and you can talk on the web at ember.space, if you prefer.
Does Ember remember what I told it?
Yes. Ember remembers what you said, so you can pick up where you left off instead of explaining everything again.

No. Ember is an AI, and it tells you so. What it knows about how things went comes from real people's lives — what others in a similar situation went through, what they tried, and what happened next.
Will Ember tell me what to do?
No. Ember listens and helps you see what matters to you, and what you might be missing. The decision stays yours.
Does it cost anything?

Who is Ember for?
Adults 18 and older with something on their mind they keep coming back to.
